Number of children concerned 158,000

Pensions paid at reduced rates included in above 1,250
(iii) Persons over pensionable age receiving unemployment benefit with increases for children (4 per cent. sample count at 3rd May 1976) Nil

The number of widowed mothers who do not satisfy the contribution conditions fully is based on a sample count. The corresponding figures for other groups are based on an estimate that about five per cent. of such beneficiaries have pensions or benefits at a reduced rate.
