HC Deb 21 December 1976 vol 923 cc142-3W
Mr. Stephen Ross

asked the Secretary of State for Transport how many empty houses are owned by the Port of London Authority; of these how many have been empty for more than six months, one year and two years; and how many of these houses are surplus to the immediate requirements of the Port of London Authority.

Mr. Horam

I understand that the Port of London Authority at present owns 83 empty units of accommodation—that is, houses and flats. All of these have been empty for more than six months; 73 for more than one year; and 67 for more than two years. All are surplus to PLA requirements and 40 are in course of sale to local authorities. Almost all are unfit for occupation in their present condition.
