§ Mr. Dodsworthasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what information he has on the levels of radioactivity in milk produced from cows near nuclear establishments; if he will publish that information; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. BishopMilk samples are collected and analysed from the vicinity of every major nuclear establishment at which there is the slightest possibility of a radionuclide being discharged to atmosphere which might appear in milk. The bulk of this monitoring is conducted by the operators themselves and the results are published in the annual reports produced by the United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority, British Nuclear Fuels Ltd. and the Central Electricity Generating Board. Copies may be obtained from these organisations. Independent checks conducted by my Department confirm these results.
