asked the Minister for the Civil Service what is currently the holiday entitlement for the various grades of inspectors and collectors of taxes.

In accordance with a National Whitley agreement the annual leave allowances of non-industrial civil servants are fixed by reference to the salary of the grade and to the length of service of the individual. In

Inspector 4 weeks 2 days, rising to:
5 weeks after 10 years' total service; and
6 weeks after 20 years' total service.
Inspector (Higher Grade), Senior Inspector and Principal Inspector 5 weeks, rising to:
6 weeks after 10 years' total service.
Collector 4 weeks, rising to:
4 weeks and 2 days after 7 years' total service;
5 weeks after 17 years' total service; and
6 weeks after 27 years' total service.
Collector (Higher Grade), Senior Collector and Regional Collector 4 weeks 2 days, rising to:
5 weeks after 10years' total service; and
6 weeks after 20 years' total service.
Principal Collector 5 weeks, rising to:
6 weeks after 10 years' total service.

In addition to the customary bank and public holidays, all non-industrial civil servants, including inspectors and collectors of taxes, are granted two and half "privilege" days per year—i.e., the afternoon of Maundy Thursday, one day for the Sovereign's Birthday, and one other day at Christmas.
