§ Mr. Bakerasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs (1) whether he will make representations to the South African Government to allow Mrs. Morris, the mother of Mrs. 1081W Rabkin, to see her daughter who is being detained under the Prevention of Terrorism Act;
(2) whether he will make representations to the South African Government either to bring charges against Mr. and Mrs. Rabkin, who both hold British pas-ports, or to release them;
(3) whether he will make representations to the South African Government to allow officials of the British Embassy to see Mr. Rabkin, while he is being detained without charges being laid against him.
§ Mr. RowlandsFollowing vigorous ministerial and diplomatic representations, the South African authorities are allowing immediate consular access to Dr. Rabkin, and have given permission for Mrs. Morris to visit her daughter. We are continuing to press for the earliest possible information about such charges as may be laid.
