HC Deb 03 August 1976 vol 916 c775W
Mr. Churchill

asked the Secretary of State for Employment if, in the light of the findings of the industrial tribunal of 17th May 1976, he has made a determination whether or not the 25 dismissed strikers picketing Electro-Automat of Swinton for the past six months are involved in a trade dispute, for the purpose of assessing the eligibility of any one of them for unemployment or social security benefit; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Golding

The independent adjudicating authorities, who decide all claims to benefit, have decided that the test claimant representing those people picketing Electro-Automat of Swinton is not disqualified from receipt of unemployment benefit on account of the trade dispute disqualification in Section 19(1) of the Social Security Act 1975.
