§ Mr. Watkinsonasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what assistance is given to farmers who construct irrigation systems on their farms.
§ Mr. StrangGrant on the cost of fixed equipment is available at 20 per cent. under the Farm Capital Grant Scheme and 25 per cent. under the Farm and Horticulture Development Scheme where it forms part of a development plan. The rate of grant under both schemes for farmers who qualify for the higher less-favoured areas rates is 50 per cent. In addition, movable equipment can qualify for grant under the Farm and Horticulture Development Scheme at 15 per cent. in less-favoured areas and 10 per cent. in other areas.
