HC Deb 03 August 1976 vol 916 c694W
Mr. Skeet

asked the Secretary of State for Energy how many inquiries he has received about the use of ethane as feedstock for petrochemical facilities.

Dr. J. Dickson Mabon

The preferred use for ethane must be as a petrochemical feedstock and a number of companies are showing interest in supplies from the Brent field. Much larger supplies could become available later if a gas gathering system is built, and I would hope to see them used as a petrochemical feedstock as well.
