asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will publish in theOfficial Report the number of individuals currently paying tax under Schedule D assessment in each of the following categories: (a) on trading profits as sole traders, (b) on trading profits as partnership earnings and (c) on professional earnings.

I regret that infortion in precisely the form requested is not available. The table below gives estimates of the number of assessments made under Cases I and II of Schedule D during the accounting year to 31st October 1974—the latest year for which the information is available:
