HC Deb 02 August 1976 vol 916 c642W
Mr. Nicholas Winterton

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if there are any road projects previously planned by his Department for the Macclesfield constituency which have been affected by the Government's spending cuts.

Mr. Tim Renton

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether, in the light of the Chancellor of the Exchequer's public expenditure cuts, he will cancel his plans for improvements to the A23 south of Pease Pottage, which are based in traffic forecasts for 1995; and whether he will issue a public announcement of this cancellation in order to remove planning blight.

Mr. Marks

I would refer the hon. Members to the reply given to the hon. Member for Pudsey (Mr. Shaw) on 26th July.—[Vol. 916, c.61.]
