Mr Alan Lee Williamsasked the Secretary of State for Trade (1) whether he will consult the Watermans Company of the River Thames before giving effect to the recommendations of the Steering Committee on Pilotage;
(2) whether he will consult the Transport and Water Association before giving effect to the recommendations of the Steering Committee on Pilotage.
§ Mr. Clinton DavisWhen the SCOP Report was published, all parties interested in pilotage were invited to forward their views to this Department. Helpful observations were received from the Company of Watermen and Lighter-men, and any further representations from that company or from the Transport on Water Association would be welcome while officials are preparing legislation to implement the SCOP recommendations.
