asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what were the amounts of petrol duty raised in Wales during the last two financial years.

It is estimated that hydrocarbon oil duty borne by residents of Wales was about £90 million a year. Separate estimates for petrol have not been made, but petrol usually represents about 70 per cent. of hydrocarbon oil revenue in the United Kingdom as a whole.
