§ Mrs. Millie Millerasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether the terms of the Police Act which state that police officers shall be paid for 618W the hours of duty performed have been adopted in relation to the overtime payment of Flying Squad drivers in the Metropolitan Force since the CID detective duty allowance was abolished on 1st September 1975.
§ Mr. Roy JenkinsPolice pay and allowances are determined by Police Regulations made under powers conferred on me by Section 33 of the Police Act 1964. Flying Squad drivers are paid a commuted overtime allowance approved under Police Regulations which was increased from 1st September 1975 as part of the police pay settlement.
