HC Deb 14 April 1976 vol 909 c578W
Mrs. Dunwoody

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what is the average cost of a sterile unit suitable for treating leukaemia patients; how many such units exist; and how many are sited in the North-West of England.

Dr. Owen

Many kinds of sterile units are suitable for treating leukaemia patients and it is not possible to provide a meaningful average cost. I regret that information about numbers and location of these units is not held centrally, but I understand there is none in the North-West of England.
