asked the Secretary of State for Defence whether he has plans to fit AEW equipment in Sea King helicopters with a view to replacing the AEW Gannets after the withdrawal of HMS "Ark Royal"; and, if not, how he proposes to provide AEW cover in future for the Royal Navy.

No. The Gannets in HMS "Ark Royal" are there to provide organic AEW for that vessel; is is complementary to the general AEW cover for the Fleet provided by the Royal Air Force.
