asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what was the cost of preparing, producing and printing the National Food Survey for the last three years.

The costs of printing, publishing, warehousing and selling the last three National Food Survey Reports were £8,824 (1970–71), £11,132 (1972) and £9,394 (1973) respectively. For each of these reports 2,250 copies were printed and the sale prices (as determined by the HMSO standard pricing scale) were £2.05, £1.85 and £2.33 respectively.

The sums borne on the vote of the Office of Population Censuses and Surveys for sampling, fieldwork etc. in connection with the Survey for the last three United Kingdom of animal feed, soya and other oilseeds and cereals shown separately for each of the years 1973, 1974 and 1975; and what he estimates the figure will be for 1976.

The animal feed figures are available in crop years only and are published up to the year 1973–74 in "Output and Utilisation of Farm Produce in the United Kingdom", a copy of which is in the Library of the House. 1974–75 figures are to be published in the latest issue in May 1976.

The quantities (thousand tons) and value (£ million) of soya, other oilseeds and cereals imported into the United Kingdom for all purposes are as follows:

financial years were £82,000 (1973–74), £84,000 (1974–75) and £105,000 (1975–76), MAFF administrative costs for the preparation of the Survey are not separately identified.
