HC Deb 08 April 1976 vol 909 c257W
38. Mr. Spriggs

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what representations he has received from the glass industry about the use of wired glass for the purpose of reducing fire hazards in fire doors and as a fire preventive; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Freeson

The representations from the St. Helens branch of the General and Municipal Workers Union, to which I referred in my reply to my hon. Friend's Question yesterday about window frames, included the question of the use of wired glass in connection with fire safety. This is dealt with in my reply of which I am sending him a copy.
