HC Deb 08 April 1976 vol 909 cc238-9W
19. Mr. Stonehouse

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department when he expects to receive the report of the Annan Inquiry into the future of broadcasting in the United Kingdom; and when Her Majesty's Government expect to make their own proposals.

Mr. Alexander W. Lyon

As my right hon. Friend said in replying to a Question by the hon. Member for Macclesfield (Mr. Winterton) on 26th March—[Vol. 908, c.310.]—we understand that the Annan Committee expects to report early next year. The Government will formulate their proposals as soon as there has been an opportunity to consider the Committee's findings.
