§ Mr. KaufmanThe company will be submitting to the National Enterprise Board its overall plans for capital investment to give effect to the broad programme in the Ryder Report. The National Enterprise Board will be reporting to me on the proposals.
§ Mr. Edgeasked the Secretary of State for Industry what steps he has taken to prevent British Leyland investing in tool-making capacity for the new Rover model in South Africa and Japan in pursuance of his policy of ensuring British orders for the firm whenever it is practicable.
§ Mr. CarmichaelIt is British Leyland's policy to give full consideration to United Kingdom manufacturers and to buy British wherever this is feasible. I understand that Mr. Alex Park, Chief Executive of British Leyland, will be writing to my hon. Friend to correct several inaccuracies in recent Press reports on this subject.
