HC Deb 21 October 1975 vol 898 c142W
Mr. Atkinson

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will list the number of incoming adults and children under 16 years of age detained at Heathrow and other points of entry, their country of origin and the length of time they have been held on average; how many are sent back and the length of time it takes to establish the authenticity or otherwise of each case; and if he will list these details in tabular form for each of the last 12 months.

Mr. Alexander W. Lyon

I regret that this information is not readily available and could not be obtained without disproportionate cost. In the great majority of cases where admission is refused removal is effected on the day of arrival.
