HC Deb 21 October 1975 vol 898 c147W
Mr. Rooker

asked the Secretary of State for Trade if he will introduce legislation limiting the maximum age of company directors to the age at which they became eligible to receive the statutory retirement pension.

Mr. Clinton Davis

I shall be considering in the course of my Department's review of company law whether the existing provisions regarding the retirement of directors are still adequate; but I do not think that the particular measure suggested would be appropriate.

Mr. Rooker

asked the Secretary of State for Trade if he will introduce legislation to require disclosure of the details of service agreements of directors in the annual reports of public companies.

Mr. Clinton Davis

I will examine the suggestion made by my hon. Friend in my consideration of the question of disclosure generally in the course of my Department's review of company law.
