HC Deb 15 October 1975 vol 897 c728W
Mr. Michael Spicer

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science, in view of the present financial situation. what are Her Majesty's Government's latest plans for the withdrawal of grants to direct-grant schools.

Miss Joan Lestor

The plans announced by my right hon. Friend in the House on 11th March 1975—[Vol. 888, c. 271.]—remain unchanged. They have been given effect by the Direct Grant Grammar Schools (Cessation of Grant) Regulations 1975, which were laid before the House on 30th July. A copy of my Department's Circular 7/75, which explained the effects of the regulations and the way in which they will be administered, is available in the Library of the House.
