§ Mr. Hooleyasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he will set up an independent committee to conduct a general inquiry into the incidence of bullying and violence in secondary schools.
§ Mr. MulleyI intend to consider the possibilities for future action over school behavioural problems, including truancy, when the present consultations with the local authority and teachers associations on these topics are completed. I do not rule out the holding of an inquiry, should this appear necessary.
