asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what sums were paid to councillors in each district council in Northern Ireland by way of travelling and subsistence allowances during the year ended 31st March 1975.

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland whether the public have a right of access to information about the amount paid by district councils to councillors in Northern Ireland by way of allowances for attendance.

Mr. Concannon

Yes. Under the regulations governing the pay of attendance allowances, councils are required to keep detailed records of such payments, and such records are required to be open for inspection at all reasonable hours by any local elector for the district.
