§ Mr. Stonehouseasked the Secretary of State for Prices and Consumer Protection what is the current number of civil servants in her Department; and what was the total number in the equivalent sections of Departments in 1964 and the percentage increase or decrease of the total between the two dates.
§ Mrs. Shirley Williams309 staff are currently in post. Some of the work on which they are engaged is new; some derives from responsibilities previously held by other Departments. It is, therefore, not possible to determine the numbers of staff involved 11 years ago.
