HC Deb 26 November 1975 vol 901 c182W
Mr. Kilroy-Silk

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if she will lift the ceiling on earnings-related contribution to today's equivalent of the £69.

Mr. O'Malley

The upper earnings limit for Class 1 national insurance contributions will be raised to £95 a week from 6th April 1976. This, along with other changes in the rates and levels of contributions, is provided for in the Social Security (Contributions, Re-rating) Order 1975 (1975 No. 1829).

I would refer my hon. Friend to the reply my right hon. Friend gave to my hon. Friend, the Member for Walsall. South (Mr. George) on 23rd October.—[Vol. 898, c. 236–8.]
