asked the Secretary of State for Employment how many of the 1,000 extra places for community industry have now been allocated; and what steps he proposes to take to increase the allocation.

Information on the allocation of the first 320 places was given in my reply of 14th October to my hon. Friend.—[Vol. 897, c.657]. The remaining additional capacity of 680 places has been allocated and the details are given below. We are now considering the need for further expansion.

* This unit will be sub-divided into a unit of 100 places based on Birmingham and a unit of 50 places based on Coventry.
