HC Deb 12 November 1975 vol 899 c846W
Mr. Biggs-Davison

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland to what extent he is formulating new social and economic policies for Northern Ireland in advance of decisions on the future constitution of the Province.

Mr. Merlyn Rees

Social and economic policies for Northern Ireland, in line with the Government's objectives for the United Kingdom as a whole, are formulated or modified from time to time as circumstances require or in anticipation of changing circumstances. Consideration is always given to the possible desirability of reserving for settlement by a future devolved administration matters that might fall within its competence.
