Mr. Dodsworth

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will publish his decision concerning the preferred route for the Maple Cross-Egham section of the M25.

Early next year.

Mr. Townsend

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment which sections of the M25 outer orbital road he expects to be in use by the end of each of the following years: 1976, 1978, 1980, 1982, and 1984.

  • Dartford—Swanley.
  • Godstone—Reigate
  • Maple Cross—Hunton Bridge.

1978

1980

  • M11—A12.
  • Sevenoaks—Godstone
  • Reigate—Chertsey
  • Chertsey—Thorpe.

1982

  • A10—M11.
  • Swanley—Sevenoaks.

1984

  • Egham—Maple Cross.
  • Micklefield Green/Hunton Bridge—A1.

Mr. Townsend

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what he estimates to be the total costs to public funds of the public inquiry exercise on the M25 (Waltham Cross to Brentwood section).

The final cost of the inquiry into the A10 to M11 and M11 to A12 sections of the M25 cannot be calculated until after the inspector has submitted his report.
