§ Mr. Hugh JenkinsIt is for local authorities themselves to decide what contribution they should make to the availability of the arts, within the resources at their disposal. Government assistance is provided in various ways through the Arts Council, including grants to regional arts associations, the British Film Institute, the Area Museums Service and the acquisition funds administered by the Victoria and Albert and Science Museums.
