§ Mr. Beithasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food whether the 577W legislation on agricultural holdings he proposes to introduce, announced in a reply to the hon. Member for Brecon and Radnor (Mr. Roderick) on 3rd November, will be designed to afford to the sons and near relatives of tenant farmers a status comparable to that which they enjoy in Scotland.
§ Mr. StrangDiscussions on this subject were held earlier this year with representatives of the agricultural industry and the interested professional bodies. These consultations confirmed that it raises complex issues. The Government have not reached any conclusions in the matter, nor have they taken any decisions.
