asked the Secretary of State for Energy how soon he expects it will be possible for the United Kingdom to apply for membership of the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries.

As I told my hon. Friend the Member for Blaydon (Mr. Woof) on 27th October—[Vol. 898, c.327]—the Government have no plans to apply for membership of the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries.
