HC Deb 10 November 1975 vol 899 c408W
Mr. Ian Stewart

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will make proposals for dealing with the situation where listed buildings are in a dangerous state and their owners are unable to afford the cost of repairs; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Crosland

It is the responsibility of the appropriate local authority to ensure that action is taken in respect of any building which appears to it to be dangerous. Grants are available to help many owners of listed buildings to meet the cost of repairs, but if the hon. Member has in mind a particular example of difficulty, I will look into it if he writes to me.
