§ Mr. Richard Wainwrightasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will be having meetings with representatives of local authority associations, in addition to meetings of the Local Government Finance Consultative Council, in negotiations for the rate support grant 1976–77; and, if so, which associations will be invited to send representatives.
§ Mr. CroslandThe Consultative Council on Local Government Finance is already attended by representatives of the Association of County Councils, the Association of District Councils, the Association of Metropolitan Authorities, the London Boroughs Association, and the Greater London Council. It provides an effective forum for negotiations on rate support grant. There is thus no need for separate meetings with the local authority associations.
