§ Mr. Dodsworthasked the Secretary of State for the Environment what is the estimated completion date for the Hunton Bridge—Maple Cross section of the North Orbital Road; what is the estimated total cost of completion; and what is the total increase in construction costs over the original estimate.
§ Mr. CarmichaelIt is estimated that the works will be completed in February 1976 at a total cost of around £8 million. This is nearly £1 million more than when 229W the combined contracts for the scheme were let in October 1973. Increases in the cost of construction account for about £300,000 of this increase and the remainder is due to increased compensation to land owners.
