§ Mr. Cryerasked the Secretary of State for the Environment (1) if he will publish the report on the effects of aerosols commissioned by his Department and submitted to the Royal Commission on the Environment;
(2) if he will publish the comments of the Royal Commission on the Environment on his Department's report regarding the effects of aerosols.
§ Mr. Denis HowellThe effects of aerosols are under close study. I hope to publish a report on the matter later this year, which will include the substance of the appraisal commissioned by my Department, an assessment of the medical risks and the results of further research.
The question of the publication of any comments by the Royal Commission on Environmental Pollution about the appraisal would be a matter for that body, but I shall ensure that any such comments are taken into account in the published report.
