Mr. Watkinson

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what area the chest X-ray service based at the Regional Transfusion Centre, Southmead, Bristol covers.

Somerset, Avon, Gloucestershire and part of Wiltshire.

Mr. Watkinson

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services which chest X-ray services have the responsibility of providing X-ray services for the people of West Gloucestershire.

The South Western Regional Mass Radiography Service.

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services how many people in West Gloucestershire have availed themselves of the services of the chest X-ray unit in 1974, 1973 and 1972, respectively.

The following numbers of examinations were carried out during the unit's visits to Lydney, Coleford and Cinderford: 536, 863 and 738.

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services how frequently the mobile X-ray unit is available to the people of West Gloucestershire; and which areas it visits.

The unit visits West Gloucestershire—Lydney, Coleford and Cinderford—and other parts of Gloucestershire—Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, Dursley, Stroud and Tewkesbury—once a month to deal with referrals by general practitioners and is always open to callers from the general public.
