HC Deb 02 May 1975 vol 891 cc282-3W
Mr. Woof

asked the Secretary of State for Trade if he will list the projects affected by the Chancellor's statement of public expenditure retrenchment announced on 15th April, which fall on his Vote, and indicate the total savings expected for the current and prospective year.

Mr. Clinton Davis

The share of the £900 million savings, at 1974 survey prices, in 1976–77 borne by Department of Trade programmes will be £1.4 million. Of this total, £1 million will fall on the provision by local authorities for development of municipal aerodromes and will form part of the share of the savings to be found from local authority capital expenditure as a whole. The remaining £0.4 million will be found from increases in the fees charged by the Companies Registration Office and Patent Office beyond the levels assumed in Cmnd. 5879.
