HC Deb 02 May 1975 vol 891 c281W
Mr. Adam Butler

asked the Secretary of State for Trade if he will set up a committee to examine the impact of low-cost imports on the hosiery and knitwear industry and to make recommendations as a matter of urgency.

Mr. Deakins

No. The Government are in close contact with representatives of the hosiery and knitwear industry and are already considering the whole question of low-cost textile imports in response to the proposals made by the British Textile Confederation.
