Mr. Onslow

asked the Secretary of State for Defence why the value of the Offset Agreement with the Federal Government of Germany for the six months 1st July to 31st December 1974 is not yet available so far as military purchases are concerned.

Mr. Mason

The figure for the value of the Offset Agreement as regards military purchases for the six months 1st July to 31st December 1974 is now available and is DM103 million.

Mr. Onslow

asked the Secretary of State for Defence what will be the estimated sterling cost of maintaining British forces in Germany in 1975–76.

Mr. Mason

I refer the hon. Member to Annex A, Table 5 of the Statement on the Defence Estimates, 1975 (Command 5976).
