§ Mr. Madelasked the Secretary of State for Industry what information he has as to the average length of time that bus companies have to wait for the delivery of new British built buses, and what is the average length of time for delivery of spare parts from the factories.
§ Mr. Meacher:I am informed that the waiting period for buses depends on the type and make of bus required; that it is generally lengthy for double deckers; and that in some cases the waiting period extends to two years. Delivery periods for spares are dependent on a number of factors including shortages of some raw materials and the need to reach a level of demand which merits production.
