HC Deb 19 March 1975 vol 888 c426W
55. Mr. Durant

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment how many local authorities he has visited since the issue of his circular on local government expenditure; and with what results.

Mr. Crosland:

My hon. Friend the Under-Secretary of State has visited some 30 local authorities. In addition, a further dozen or so local authorities were represented at meetings with Economic Planning Councils. Generally speaking, the chance to discuss local authority budgetting and economising for 1975–76 in the light of the circular was welcomed.
