§ 11. Mr. Hannamasked the Secretary of State for Employment if he will give 358W details of the financial support available to help disabled people to obtain and hold employment.
§ Mr. Harold Walker:It is estimated that in the current financial year about £29,830,000, excluding capital expenditure, will be spent for this purpose. I understand that the Manpower Services Commission estimates that £9,553,000 will have been spent on its employment, rehabilitation and training services: £4,209,000 on rehabilitation and training allowances; and £68,000 on miscellaneous grants. My Department estimates that it will spend £215,000 on hostel accommodation, and that it and the local authorities will jointly spend £15,785,000 on sheltered employment.
