§ Mr. Trotterasked the Secretary of State for Trade whether he will amend the law of insolvency so as to give employee's preferential claims priority over those of the Inland Revenue and other Government Departments.
§ Mr. Clinton DavisMy right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Employment is considering proposals for expediting and paying in full some part of an employee's claims for remuneration, holiday pay etc. in connection with a proposed Employment Protection Bill. Proposals for other measures concerning employees' preferential rights will be considered when an opportunity for legislation arises.
