Mr. John Evans

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services (1) how many people, who qualified by occupation, have been refused benefits under the occupational deafness scheme; and if she will give the figures on a regional basis;

(2) how many people have applied for benefit under the occupational deafness scheme and have been rejected because they were not in the correct category of occupation; and if she will give the figures on a regional basis;

(3) how many shipbuilding and ship repairing workers in the United Kingdom have been refused benefits under the occupational deafness scheme because they were not in the defined occupations;
