HL Deb 18 June 1975 vol 361 c994WA

The Lord Bishop of WORCESTER asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they intend to support the programme of the World Food Council when it meets for the first time in Rome later this month, and whether they will consider supporting the introduction of a world fertiliser security system.

Baroness LLEWELYN-DAVIES of HASTOE

It is Her Majesty's Government's intention to participate fully in the work of the World Food Council. Matters that are likely to arise at the first meeting are being carefully considered by my right honourable friends the Minister of Overseas Development and the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, but they are not at present in a position to make a statement. Her Majesty's Government will, of course, be prepared to give consideration to any proposal for a world fertiliser security system.

House adjourned at one minute before nine o'clock.
