§ Mr. O'MalleyDuring the financial year 1974–75 the Department spent £308,000 on advertising social security benefits. The amounts were: Press, £240,000; television, £66,000; radio, £2,000. The information on costs of printing and distribution of leaflets and benefits is not readily available and could not be obtained without a disproportionate amount of time and expenditure.
