HC Deb 17 July 1975 vol 895 cc589-90W
Mr. Adley

asked the Secretary of State for Trade when he expects to complete his review of tourism policy: and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Shore

My right hon. Friends the Secretary of State for Wales and the Minister of State, Scottish Office and I had a valuable discussion with the chairman of the four statutory tourist boards on 11th June, as part of a continuing exchange about the development of their tourism programmes. We noted with satisfaction the increasing numbers of visitors to Britain. The Government and the boards will be working together to carry forward the policies contained in the guidelines which I announced in the House on 21st November last.
