asked the Secretary of State for Employment how much was spent by his Department in each year since 1970 on advertising in all forms, including leaflets, the wages council system and workers' rights associated with it.

During the years 1970 to 1974 there has been no paid-for advertising of the wages council system and workers' rights associated with it. The existence of the councils and the work they carry out are embodied in the notices of new wage rates sent out to all known employers to be posted up for the information of their employees.
