§ Mr. Welshasked the Secretary of State for Scotland (1) if he will review the workings of the Dunning Committee on O grade examination structure and the Munn Committee on S3 and S4 Examination Curricula in order to avoid duplication of functions;
(2) if he is satisfied with the relationship between the Dunning Committee on O grade examination structure, and the Munn Committee on S3 and S4 Examination Curricula.
§ Mr. William RossI am satisfied that the Dunning Committee, which I have appointed to inquire into the forms of assessment or examination most suitable for the needs of pupils in their fourth year of secondary education, and the Munn Committee, which the Consultative Committee on the Curriculum has established to consider the structure of the curriculum in the third and fourth years of secondary education, have distinct and162W complementary functions. I do not consider any review of the functions of these respective committees to be necessary.
